
ADCO Oil and Gas – Quasahwira Gas Field Development – FEED
ADCO is a subsidiary of ADNOC in Abu Dhabi, which was previously a Joint Venture Between ADNOC, BP and ExxonMobil. ADCO is primarily responsible to developing onshore wells and for the extraction of oil and gas, along with distribution of gas.
Client Needs: The project entailed the development of a new oil and gas extraction well facility. The scope includes development of new well heads, installation of a slug catcher, new compressor station, pipelines from new and depleted wells to compressor station and for distribution of gas, development of degassing and dehydration facilities, utilities to support infrastructure and oil storage and pumping stations. The design involved development and laying of approximately 1500 km of pipeline ranging from 6” to 20”. The compressor station was developed for dual purpose, distribution of natural gas to main network and for oil recovery from depleted wells using pressurized gas. Final deliverables included a full FEED package of the design, an EPC Bid Package, +/-15% Cost Estimate, EPC Execution plans and Purchase Specifications for all Long Lead Items.

Results: Senior members of TMG were responsible for the Project Management and Engineering Management of the high-profile project. The project was executed on a multiple office execution approach, utilizing Toronto and Abu Dhabi offices as the Centres of Excellence, with Mumbai utilized to provide a cost-effective model for completing the FEED.
The project was completed on time and on budget. The project subsequently went for EPC bids and work commenced in 2015 with a completion timeline of 2021.
